Band of Brothers 2001 war film review

Lieutenant Sobel is commander of Easy Company 101st Airborne Division during their training in Camp Toccoa, Georgia, while they are preparing for something American army never done before - they are the paratroopers that will take part in the Allied landing in Europe, although they still don’t know when and where the invasion will start. Sobel is very strict man, who does not assimilate with his men - as an officer he feels he needs to be strict and demanding, after all the paratroopers are destined to fight cut off from any support facing the enemy forces surrounding them from each side. But in such situation the bond between soldiers is as important as ammo and food. Sobel fails to gain the respect of his men and to make things worse he fails while leading his unit in field exercise, which undermines his position as officer. The preparations for invasion in Europe move to another stage and East Company is transferred to England, where the tension between Sobel and his men are getting worse.

2001 mini-series that tells the unbelievable, but true, story of Easy Company 101st Airborne Division during their training and service in Europe. They took part in the most important and toughest battles in the western front - they were dropped during D-Day landings and had to fought in Normandy, later they took part in Operation Market-Garden, got stuck in Bastogne during Battle of the Bulge and fought while crossing the Rhine into Germany. It is an amazing production that is full of gripping subplots and unbelievable stories.
